Life's a beach...

We chose the beach.
What a wonderful day. The girls loved it! Jocelyn waved at every seagull; while Julia carried on a conversation them. They didn't mind the sand and found the shells very interesting. The smiles were endless. The devastation in Galveston is still quite striking. There are boats displaced on the side of the road, walls of houses gone, debris everywhere. We pray for a speedy recovery for our neighbors.

little piggies

Lately, Julia has been cleaning Jocelyn's fingers for her as she dangles them over her highchair. Much to my surprise, Julia took a liking to Jocelyn's toes as well. Absolutely hilarious! Being the wonderful mother that I am I, of course, ran to get my camera. Unfortunately, things did not end well when Jocelyn burst into tears! Yup, Julia bit her. My, oh my, this is going to be quite the ride. :)

Our new pet...

The girls love their new pet hamster, Eddie! All right, I admit he's mechanical. I am so thrilled that I don't have to clean his cage or worry about the girls squishing him. They chase him around the room and smile ear to ear.

Winter Extravaganza

Who says you can't have fun in the snow and cold?! We just couldn't resist. We had to build snowmen...one for each of the five grand-daughters. This Texan managed to stay warm in my Dad's beaver hat from Alaska. :) Then came the ice skating. These pictures almost didn't make the blog, but I figured my girls would enjoy them someday and this is for them after all. We grew up by this ice skating rink and we had a lot of fun reliving some fond childhood memories. We can put on quite a show (little did we know someone was watching us in the warming house!) Honestly, it was the most fun I've had in a long time. We ended the day appropriately with s'mores by mom and dad's fire. An overwhelming thank you to Grandma Diana and Grandpa Gregg for an amazing month. Thank you for all of your love and generosity. We had the best time and appreciate all of your kindness.

Christmas 2008

All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth...oh yeah, we already got those! Enjoy the pictures (I know, I'm a little behind...I'm trying to catch up)
