Kennedy Space Center

We visited the Kennedy Space Center today and we were amazed. It was neat learn more about the shuttle we witnessed and to view things that Tim works on. We really enjoyed the Shuttle Launch Experience which simulated a launch; at the end the payload bay doors opened and we could see the earth and outer space. Pretty neat.
I have to admit that this was one of the few moment both girls were smiling. There was a lot of junk food bribing going on today...
The girls both got an astronaut bear which they love. I imagine we've taken the helmets on and off at least fifty times already. ;)

Space Shuttle Launch

A group picture with Tim's parents. If you look VERY CLOSELY you really can see the space shuttle in the background.
Atlantis STS-129. I can think of only one word to describe this: awesome.
It was quite moving and amazing. You could hear it and see it. It was brighter that I imagined. It went on the first attempt which we were so thankful for. About an hour before lift off the clouds cleared away, definitely a 'once in a lifetime' experience.
The girls watched it quite intensely. Julia pointed at it the whole time and Jocelyn waved good-bye. I know they won't remember it, but they'll enjoy the pictures someday I'm sure.

Destin, FL

An attempt at a family picture on the beach. This is proving to be an impossible task.
The "sand man." The sand was so white and powdery...it looked just like snow. Absolutely gorgeous!
Our little beach bums; they didn't want to leave and neither did we. They loved to wash their feet in the shower on the boardwalk and took off running back to the beach when we were leaving. When they saw the beach and ocean for the first time they started clapping and gleeing. The seagulls were another definite favorite, they really enjoyed chasing them and watching them fly. I'm convinced Jocelyn had an entire conversation with one of them in their own little language.
This is a Grandma Diana thing. We were collecting sea shells and the girls were putting them in their pockets.

DESTINation: Florida

We are currently traveling, by car, to Cocoa Beach, FL to witness the Space Shuttle launch. When I told people we were doing this many thought we had gone crazy. Well, I am pleased to announce the 10 hour car ride yesterday went fabulous! Let's hope for a nice, short 8 hour car ride today! ;) We stayed in Destin last night and we plan to play in some of the gorgeous white sand before we leave this morning!

Sorry for the lack of photos....no worries, there will be MANY to come as always!

Go Texans!

We enjoyed a wonderful day at the Baggerman's Tailgating party. Good food, great friends, happy times. Unfortunately, the Texans lost at the end...but, let's admit it...it's not really about the game. ;)
