the hunting of the eggs

We went to our second annual Easter egg hunt today...what a difference a year makes. The girls filled their bags and quacked like ducks. Julia even put her bag down so she could pick up an egg in each hand. That's my girl! :) However, they did NOT like the life size Easter bunny or the HEB Buddy from the area grocery store. They had a drawing for a real dwarf bunny, which I couldn't resist putting our name in for..however, Tim was VERY quick to point out that if we won we would be taking home a stuffed bunny and not a real one.
Perhaps he'll come around in a few years. ;) Area photographers couldn't resist taking the little girl's pictures and the Chamber of Commerce gave them an extra Easter basket on our way to the car...it was another wonderful, beautiful day.

the 3rd annual blue bonnet picture

The blue bonnets aren't in full bloom yet, however we couldn't drive past the opportunity to capture the annual photo. The girls were more cooperative this year (for a good laugh look back at last year's photo). Julia has quite the "pretty face" she does for pictures; she makes us laugh. They even tried to smell them...such cute little Texans. ;)

Adventure Fridays

My friend Susan and I have been trying to accomplish "Adventure Fridays" with our girls. To be honest, the meetings have been few and far between. But, the few we have had have been wonderful. The zoo was this week's chosen adventure.

Oh, sweet baby Kate...I know you're in there somewhere (behind your sister to be exact)! BIG girls on the carousel!

Miss Independent #1 and #2 actually sitting in their stroller. Julia spent majority of the time holding SUSAN's hand...too cute.

For sure, the best part of the day...eating ice cream by the fountains.

Anna, the photographer, capturing a few photos. Adorable. :)

moody gardens

Tim is teaching Julia to say "what's up?!" She can already say "dude." This is her own fashion statement. ;)

Our version of a growth chart.

Spent some time with our toes in the sand. It was such a good day. Thank you for coming to visit Grandma Diana...we love you!

zoo

Julia's preferred vantage point in the petting zoo. To be honest this was actually too close. Jocelyn doesn't get much closer...are these my daughters?

The giraffes, elephants, sea lions, and the aquarium crawl tunnel were definitely the most popular.

the bunny cake

A tradition carried on from my childhood...the bunny cake. The girls discovered a new love for jelly beans and coconut. ;)

Houston Rodeo

The girls' feet hardly touched the ground in that crazy petting zoo...

They had fun on the "farm," especially when they got to plant their seeds. The nice cowgirl tricked them and instantly a tomato appeared. They were fascinated!

We were lucky to pick up Grandma Diana from the airport on our way to the Rodeo. Our highlights were the fried Oreo's and the fried pickles.

Happy Birthday dear Anna...

We had the pleasure of celebrating Anna's 4th Birthday at the Children's Museum today. Everyone had a blast and the Strawberry Shortcake theme was absolutely adorable. Happpy Birthday Anna!
