Huntsville State Park

collecting "nature" in their buckets

Their pet caterpillar Callie. They carried her around in their bucket for a day and half, panicked when she got out and overjoyed when they found her. They pet her---which is a big deal for these two. There little hearts broke to leave her behind, slightly relieved to find her a friend before departure.

Yup, we saw an alligator in there. Trash ripped open in the middle of the night by a raccoon, armadillos by the campfire, woodpeckers, blue jays and cardinals. Even a bunny on our way. Not to mention crazy scaredy squirrels trying to steal our food.

Bribed by licorice they both touched an alligator--back and belly.

First canoe ride...fascinated by the lily pads.

Sisterly love. I hope they remember these days just as I do with my awesome sister.

"Look Mom, I'm dirty."
I love camping...
